This my first journal here and I felt like writing this today so I hope you will listen.

When I heard propostion 8 won with 52% to 53% percent of the California vote I very
bummed out last year. Now I hear the state of Maine with 53% percent of the vote has decided to get rid of their already enacted gay marrige law too. Now I'm quite dissapointed here. But I'm also noticing a pattern here. In CA 47% to 48% voted againist prop 8 and 47% percent of the voters in Maine voted for gay marriage as well. According to these percentages in my POV, the issue of gay marriage is still spilt almost in half amongst the voters while a few tens of thousands still don't want gay marriage and want to live in the past holding more equal rights back for LGBT citizens.

I believe like the Womans Suffrage Movement, the Civil Rights Movement and Harvey Milk running for office three times and finally coming into office to further empower the Gay Rights Movement, these important things happened because these people never gave up their fight no matter how hard, how long and how many tries it took them to finally come to their goal and thus making life in the USA better for the underdogs(minorites) here. So what's the point to all this? The point is that slowly and slowly the religious right or the converatives even though they have won some battles are eventually gonna lose the war on the issue of gay marriage weather they know it or not.

This is gaining more acceptance as time goes by and when the issue will arises again maybe in a fews years or so, this issue will come to light and the LGBT community will have the right to marry whoever they choose and this issue will become nothing more but a shadow of the past just like the issues such as should women vote, should black person drink out the same fountain as a white person, should a gay man be elected into office, should two men or two women be allowed to marry each other? Yes they can and they WILL.
